Out of an abundance of
transparity, I want to share who I am and the goal for my
business. As I began to make plans for this business at the beginning
of 2025, I was nothing but a lost soul. A mother who felt her time
serving her family at home was demeaning and should come to an end. I
had bigger dreams and a purpose beyond being a wife and mother.
During the process of opening Colette’s Closet, I realized how
important being with my family is. Even the span of a few hours a day
spent away from them resulted in an undeniable shift. Mothers are
important and my absence has been felt greatly.
I was fortunate enough to acquire many beautiful garments and I decided
to turn my acquisitions into profit. Although I have been fair with
my pricing, I based my profit margins on what I considered “fair”
to an industry known for gauging and placing unrealistic values on
non-necessities.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was partaking in greed,
not righteousness. All in all, that is not how I want to conduct
myself as a business owner, or as a person for that matter.

Going forward, it is my plan to charge as little as I can while still
covering my expenses, and spending as little time away from my family
as possible. This means that I would prefer to limit my business
hours to appointments of 6 people or less at a time. Please
don’t feel that by making a shopping appointment you are obligated
to make a purchase. I would love to serve anyone who simply wants to
come in and play dress up, consign clothing that is no longer of use
to them or even if you just need a break from your busy life to sit
and enjoy a sparkling water surrounded by beautiful clothing. I
promise, I’m a pretty good listener.

I hope this has given you a better idea of who I am and what I seek to
achieve with Colette’s Closet. I hope to get to know you all
